D.R. Scrap Metals pays on-the-spot cash for scrap metal in Moncton and surrounding areas of southeastern New Brunswick, including ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
One of the questions we hear most frequently from our customers is “What’s the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous materials?” The simple answer is: ferrous metals contain iron, most are susceptible to rust, and a magnet will stick to them. Examples of ferrous metals include household appliances, such as washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves and water heaters, as well as hand tools and hardware such as weed whackers and lawn mowers, and other products, including electric motors and engines.
Non-ferrous metals, on the other hand are much more malleable and lighter than ferrous metals and they do not rust, so they are often used in the manufacture of aircraft components.
